Conditions
Conditions in which Human immunoglobulin-G needs care, as documented in this source.
Thrombosis
MajorThrombosis has been reported after treatment with immune globulin products. In general, patients at greatest risk of thromboembolic events are those of advanced age, prolonged immobilization, hypercoagulable conditions, history of venous or arterial thrombosis, use of estrogens, indwelling central vascular catheters, hyperviscosity, and cardiovascular risk factors. Thrombosis may occur in the absence of known risk factors; therefore, it is recommended that patients treated with these agents should be monitored for signs and symptoms of thrombosis and assess blood viscosity in patients at risk. Consider baseline assessment of blood viscosity in patients at risk for hyperviscosity.
